The perfect setting for an enjoyable mid-week break.

About Our Guest Musicians: Chalumeaux Sounds

Chalumeaux Sounds present the wonderful world of woodwind. They have been performing diverse and entertaining concerts since 1976, featuring their wide repertoire of many styles and periods. This explores the extraordinary variety and history of Clarinets and Saxophones as leading members of the woodwind family.

Their programme will include a cornucopia of melody and lively rhythms, ranging from the famed Baroque Te Deum of Charpentier to the ragtime of Scott Joplin.

We can expect a highly varied and entertaining programme. Do join us.

NB: The next gig for Chalumeaux Sounds is as 2 with Piano; a Lecture-Recital entitled ‘Clarinets, Saxes, and Suprises’ on 28th October evening, with Dinner at Quex Park (House, Museum, Gardens) at Birchington, Kent (near Margate).

About Music On The Green

MUSIC on the GREEN is based at Christ Church Esher directly opposite and overlooking Esher Green. Its aims are to promote a wide variety of excellent music, to present music in a fresh and engaging way, and to encourage audiences from Esher and beyond.
Our concerts take place in Christ Church at the heart of Esher – a church which boasts an outstanding pipe organ, fine grand piano acquired in 2012 with a very generous loan, and good acoustics which all contribute to making our music so enjoyable.

MUSIC on the GREEN is about making music which is accessible to, and enjoyable by, as many people as possible without it being stuffy or cheapened. This is the reason for the MUSIC on the GREEN ‘brand’ – to give the music an identity of its own.
Music is about people, emotions, history… We blend all these ingredients and seek to present our music in interesting and rewarding ways, within its own context so that it can be widely appreciated and enjoyed. Whilst having our firmest foot planted at the classical end of the spectrum, we seek to offer a rich and varied listening programme.
