My husband and I are both training with Jon. My husband is already quite strong and fit, whereas I am a Mum returning to exercise after a long break and felt quite nervous about it.

Jon is brilliant. He spent lots of time getting to know us, going through injury concerns /areas for development and personal goals, etc, during his comprehensive assessment.

The sessions are challenging but achievable, especially with Jon’s encouragement. He is very calm, personable and puts me at ease, despite my feeling so unfit!

West Byfleet

Jon is patient and knows what exercises to set you to push you. He assessed my level of fitness in a Pre-hire session. After this session it was up to me whether or not I decided to proceed with him.

He has lots of different exercise equipment and varies it at each session getting the maximum out of you without causing injury. He ensures each exercise is safe and monitors technique to maximum benefit whilst preventing injury.

It is fun and fulfilling. You have a nice satisfying post work out ache at the end of each session. Highly recommended.

After completing my HND in Sport & Exercise Sciences; I worked for Nuffield Health and progressed quickly into management which led me down the path of sales and into the property industry.

Several years of sitting behind a desk for hours on end and neglecting my health left me feeling unfit and unhappy. At that point, I decided to make a change and do something I am passionate about.

Since finishing my Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, I have either completed or booked on to over 30 accredited CPD courses or workshops (listed below). I am also a Level 3 qualified Sports Massage Therapist.

I always aim to deliver the best possible service to my clients by providing sound advice, making sessions fun, varied and ultimately achieving great results!

I am a member of CIMSPA and the FHT, hold valid insurance and have a DBS certificate.

Had a number of sessions with Jon now. He’s a great motivator and really adapts your workout to your fitness level so you are pushed, without feeling uncomfortable. Would highly recommend him.

Jon’s enthusiasm and determination are so evident in his mannerisms and he clearly enjoys the role. He is continually learning so as to improve his knowledge base and remain up to date to in his field.

I am enjoying my training sessions with him, I like that he takes the time to explain things e.g. what muscles groups are be worked/ stretched and what the fitness industry jargon actually means.

He has been mindful about my recent surgery and is helping me with rehab of the area, before we go all out crazy (keeping me reigned in until the time is right). Looking forward to my check-in when we compare initial results with present day.

Personal Training

At Surrey Fitness we combine expert instruction with the convenience, comfort and privacy of training in your own home.

We also provide Personal Training at places of work, local parks or gyms (subject to permits and permission from the land owner).

Each session is tailored to meet your needs and designed to be fun and varied. Sessions are typically one hour long and can be held indoors or outdoors (weather permitting).

Exercises can vary from a basic level through to advanced and challenging (dependant on client’s ability).

Sessions will typically incorporate elements of mobility, flexibility, functional training, cardio and weights or body weight.

Free Consultation & 20 Minute Taster Personal Training Session

Before launching into a programme of exercise it is important that we get to know you and vice versa.

Surrey Fitness provides a free consultation and 20 minute taster session for new Personal Training or Sports Massage Therapy clients.

This may involve discussing your goals & motivation, completing a PAR-Q (Pre Exercise Readiness Questionnaire) & Informed Consent Form, answering nutrition, exercise & lifestyle questions, other health checks such as blood pressure, postural assessment and flexibility assessment.

Q – Is my space suitable for Personal Training?
A – We recommend that your training area is large enough to move around and is free from any slip or trip hazards.

Q – What clothing should I wear for exercising?
A – Ideally you should wear comfortable and breathable sportswear.

Q – What should I eat or drink?
A – It’s best to fuel your body adequately before exercising. For example, don’t skip breakfast but don’t stuff yourself either! Be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout. After exercising you will probably feel hungry and may wish to refuel. Consuming enough protein is important to help repair the muscles after exercise.
