Integrated Retirement Community – Developer urges community to have its say on plans for Members Hill, Brooklands
The developer behind a new Integrated Retirement Community in Weybridge is launching a second round of consultation to find out people’s views about its plans.
Socius is proposing to repurpose the existing JTI building into an Integrated Retirement Community on the 10-acres site at Members Hill.
Two public exhibitions are being held to update people about the development which will provide extra care for residents, in addition to new community facilities and shared amenities, including a community café, hydro-pool, meeting rooms and sensory gardens.
It’s also hoped the community will come forward with possible uses for The Pavilion building which was a former sports and social club for JTI employees.
It is keen to explore whether local organisations could make use of it, either on a meanwhile or long-term basis.
JTI will decant Members Hill in 2023 as the business moves to new premises in Putney.
Doug Higgins, Project Director, Socius said:
“We’re keen to find out what people think about our updated proposals to repurpose the historic Members Hill site and how the plans have evolved since the first round of consultation.
The public exhibitions provide a great opportunity for people to have their say and for local organisations to come forward with ideas for The Pavilion and how they may be able to use it to benefit the community.
“We’re looking for possible short term and long term uses for this building which sits within ancient woodland and provides a wonderful setting for a community space.”
