Topspin Tennis is not just about tennis; its about skills for life. We don’t teach just tennis, we teach children. We want all children who attend our classes to have a love for learning to inspire the next generation.

We provide a fun and safe environment for young children to learn tennis, get actively involved and build their self confidence during the early years of development.

We have separate age groups; Toddlers and young children (2-5 years old) attend Topspin Monkeys classes. Children 5-8 years old attend Topspin Tennis Schools and additionally private lessons are offered.

Topspin Monkeys was launched by Andy Low in August 2012 and in that time over 250 children have tried our classes.

We have been recognised by Kallikids, a family accreditation service winning: Winner of UK’s ‘Best Sports Activity’ 2015.

Andy Low has 17 years experience teaching PE in schools as well as being a tennis coach in a number of tennis clubs in Surrey. He has a passion for sport but also for using sport as a fun way to learn skills such as social interaction, agility, confidence and teamwork.

Andy loves teaching children whatever their age.

Topspin Monkeys aims to create a fun and positive learning experience so children develop emotionally, physically and socially for everyday life.

Using specially adapted tennis equipment, sessions include a series of activities and games which focus on the three areas of skill development in order to play tennis. They are Movement Skills, Ball Skills (improving hand eye coordination) and Racket Skills. Tennis incorporates striking, catching, throwing and running which helps improve skills in other sports.

In addition, children learn to listen to instructions whilst having fun and learning. We also use colours, numbers, shapes and letters to help with their educational development so they feel better prepared for primary school and for life.

Children experience the importance of sportsmanship and fair play. They are encouraged to give high fives and shake hands whether they win or lose, but also to give their best at all times. Social skills are developed through the child sharing and allowing others to have their turn.
