Relationship Counselling

Our counsellors provide a caring and supportive environment to help you find a way through any difficulties you may be facing in your relationship. During some sessions 30% of individuals will disclose some form of domestic abuse. We can help the victim & perpetrator move forward from this after stopping the sessions with Relate and follow our policies & procedures to help them move forward.

The first step is to call us on 01483 602 998 and talk to a member of our client administration team. They will set up an initial appointment with a Relate counsellor, at a time to suit you.

At the first session, the counsellor will ask some questions about you and your partner, your relationship and what you hope to get out of counselling. At this stage you will also talk about the best times for your sessions and the type of counselling that is right for you.

You might decide to come to counselling with your partner or alone. Or you might have a combination of solo and couple sessions. But however you experience relationship counselling, you can feel reassured that it’s confidential and non- judgemental.
Each session usually lasts 45 minutes to an hour, and your counsellor will ask you questions so that you can talk about what’s going on and how you feel.

If you don’t like to talk a lot then they might try different things like drawing or mapping out your thoughts. It all depends on what’s right for you.
