Oatlands Village Fayre – Main Arena Events
Pedal Power vs Parkour is the only show of it’s kind in the UK. The display combines the incredible skill, balance and power of a trials rider and the finesse of a gymnast / parkour athlete. Both athletes will be putting it all on the line in an attempt to become the crowds’ favourite!
The bespoke rig has been specially made so that both styles of extreme sport can be showcased in an exciting, heart stopping performance. You can expect both athletes to perform all of the latest tricks you have only ever seen on the internet and on TV, pushing the limits of what’s physically possible in their attempt to win over the crowd!
Not only will the parkour athlete be able to jump around on all of the high platforms including the roof of the van but he’ll also be able to take advantage of a number of trampolines that are placed around the arena. Some would say this is the most impressive part of the show, the huge double front flips and double backflips are mightily impressive, he’s also been known to front flip over the trials rider when he’s in action.
In an attempt to take all the glory the trials rider will also venture onto the trampoline, he’s the only stunt cyclist in the world performing tricks on a trampoline and if he ‘nails’ his move he’s sure to win the crowd over.

More Info About Oatlands Village Fayre
It is organised primarily by parents and friends of Oatlands Scout and Guide Groups for the enjoyment of local people and is a well established local community event.
Initially it was held in the Working Men’s Club in Oatlands Village, Weybridge but it soon outgrew this site and relocated to its present site at the Oatlands Recreation Ground, opposite Oatlands Park Hotel.
This is a fund raising event but it is also a special local community day. Old acquaintances/friendships are re-made and community well-being and spirit is strengthened. It typically raises in the region of £10,000 – £15,000 each year for many local charities including the local Scouts and Guides packs, Walton Leigh School for Special Needs, Youth Carers, Oatlands School, and Cleves School.
The proceeds raised and distributed benefit Oatlands Scouts, Guides, Beavers, Eiger and Viking Explorer Scouts and the following local charities and good causes:
St John Ambulance, Oatlands Pipe Band, St Mary’s Church Oatlands, Oatlands Infants School, Cleves School, St James School, Mencap of Walton, Samaritans, Lower Mole Countryside Trust, Elmbridge Community Link, Young Carers of Elmbridge, Weybridge District Rangers, Surrey Air Ambulance, Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, The Clubhouse Project, Walton Leigh School for Special Needs, Oatlands Village Hall, Oatlands Bowling Club, Oatlands Pipe Band, Help Uganda Trust, Weybridge Youth Club, Runnymede Teens, White Lodge, Surrey Scouts Radio Team.
In addition, groups benefit by having stalls at the fayre. In recent years these have included:
Cancer Research, Lower Mole Project, RNLI, 1st Walton (Viking) Sea Scouts, 1st Weybridge Scouts, 4th Weybridge Scouts, 4th Weybridge Cubs.
We would like to thank our sponsors Martin Flashman Estate Agents and Oatlands Glass. Our Beer Tent is sponsored by The Alexander Pub.
We also receive help from Waitrose, The Oatlands Park Bowls Club, Beaver Scout colonies in Walton, Hersham and Weybridge and Roman Trucks, while the All About Weybridge website offers us excellent publicity.
Volunteers Welcome
The Fayre always welcomes more help from people in the local community. If you can commit to attending 7 evening meetings (7.45pm – 10.00pm) from October to June, or are able to give some time for Fayre preparation activities along the way, especially leading up to the Fayre, we would like to hear from you.
For more information call Cherry Abson on 01932 244 204 (please mention the All About Weybridge website). Alternatively, visit the commentary caravan on the day.
