Shooting Star Chase Fire Walk 2018

We are offering fearless folk the chance to walk on fire. You don’t need any experience, just a big dose of courage. This thrilling event will put your bravery – and the soles of your feet – to the test as you walk over burning embers up to 1200°F.

Make this year’s family firework trip one with a difference – sign up for our annual Fire Walk! Take part in an event like no other, putting your bravery (and feet!) to the test with temperatures of up to 1200°F with this ultimate, adrenaline-fuelled challenge.

Learn the secret of firewalking in a safe environment, whilst raising money for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We highly recommend this event for local groups and work parties looking for team bonding activities – take the first step onto searing hot embers and get cheered along by your team. Whether you think fire walking would be a great bucket list idea, a truly memorable first date or just a chance to lift your confidence to new heights, we’d be delighted to have you join us.

This year we will be hosting our Fire Walk at the Guildford Lions Charity Firework Fiesta. The event, held in the heart of Surrey at Guildford’s Stoke Park, will also play host to a Torchlight procession and a spectacular firework display! All profits from the Guildford Lions Charity Fireworks Fiesta support local good causes. Guaranteed to be one of the hottest things to do in Guildford this year!

There is no special clothing required to do a fire walk, but we do ask you to wear your Shooting Star Chase t-shirt which is included in your fundraising pack which will be posted to you. Casual comfortable clothing and trousers that can be easily rolled up are recommended. Fires can be quite dirty and your clothes may become ash stained. Footwear needs to be easy to remove and will need to be put back on after the fire walk, so we advise you to bring wet wipes and/or an old hand towel to clean your feet after the fire walk.

Fundraising

Your fundraising helps us to make every moment count for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

With your bravery, courage and determination we are hoping to raise £25,000 from this exhilarating event. In order to do this we hope that each of you will commit to raising a minimum of £150.

£150 could help pay for one of our monthly teenage youth groups. Most of the teenagers we support are unable to access mainstream groups so our youth group enables teenagers to spend time with their peers and do things they enjoy. Many of the group’s activities focus on promoting independence and enjoying new experiences that otherwise would be impossible.
