Weybridge Christmas Market Update & Christmas Trees Appeal
Can You Help Us To Provide Christmas Trees In Weybridge Town Centre?
Unfortunately, Weybridge Town Business Group are not able to hold our popular Weybridge Christmas Market this year. It was arranged for Saturday 5th December, but due to the current restrictions it has not been able to go ahead.
We are pleased that with the support of local businesses, residents and sponsors, we are able to fund our traditional Baker Street tree along with 73 small trees above our Weybridge businesses.
Our funds are now exhausted, so for next year, we need volunteers, sponsorships and ideas to be able to maintain the Weybridge Christmas trees and lights.
Please contact WTBG (details below) if interested.
“The original crowdfunding page was put up by a supportive Weybridge resident who was unaware that the Council provided funding for the Weybridge Xmas lights and she has since kindly amended the paragraph saying ‘Sadly our Council will not fund Christmas lights.’ to correct this local misinformation on her crowdfunding page.
We are working closely with the Weybridge Town Business group on their plans for Christmas and in addition to the lights the Council will be putting up, we are helping to link Sharon and her team to local businesses to help the sponsorship drive for extra lights, offering additional support through our business grant to work toward the fundraising target and helping progress the sign offs and permissions for the switch on event.. ”
“As a Weybridge mum of three (with one of my children actually being born on Christmas Day) Christmas is very important to me and I see it as not just a time for family to get together but also for the local community to get together. What better way to kick start the Christmas spirit than to get the community and local businesses together to raise funds for our town’s Christmas lights and getting excited for the day they see their efforts in place with a magnificent tree that they helped to fund.
I’m also arranging personalised baubles to place on the tree for everyone that donates £10 or more which can be used to promote a business (with a logo) or remember a loved one with a photo/name etc. ”
