Getting Elmbridge Active Survey
During lockdown, lots of us have all come to realise how important exercise is to look after our physical and mental wellbeing. Keeping healthy has never been more important.
Elmbridge Borough Council are running a ‘Getting Elmbridge Active’ consultation until 31 October 2020 to inform their new Physical Activity Strategy for 2021-2026.
The strategy will aim to tackle inactivity across the borough and focus on the wider benefits of regular exercise and participation in physical activity.
It is important for us to gather residents’ views on what factors prevent them from exercising. We can then try and break down existing inactivity barriers and identify long-term, sustainable solutions to address the root of the problem.
Help us to give everybody the opportunity to get fitter and healthier, doing activities they enjoy and that can easily fit in their everyday lives. Share your views on what would motivate you to become more active.
We are particularly keen to hear from people who are from BAME communities, people with a long-term health condition or disability, people who are over 50 and people who would consider themselves as currently inactive.
This 5-year strategy is not about trying to engage inactive individuals in competitive ‘sport’ but rather inviting them to move more and more often to improve their physical health and mental wellbeing.
Please let us have your opinions and ideas.
