At Sunrise of Weybridge, it is our mission to ensure that every day is a good day for those living with dementia and memory loss. Every person who lives with dementia is unique in the way that they experience their symptoms. That’s why we have a range of Enriched Memory Care approaches tailored to each resident to improve their quality of life and live well.
Our Enriched Memory Care programme has been developed by Sunrise’s Director of Memory Care, Jackie Pool, an internationally recognised Occupational Therapy Specialist in Dementia Care, who is currently engaged in major research programmes for evidencing the impact of Cognitive Rehabilitation on the function of people with dementia.
Jackie supports our team members in following a training pathway for professional development in dementia knowledge and skills.

Enriched Living
Our dedicated safe floor has cosy and homely lounges, spacious areas to enjoy personal activities and an outdoor, safe terrace with seating overlooking the garden and courtyard.
To promote residents’ well-being and a sense of purpose, life skills stations are located throughout the memory floor including a nursery and childhood station, a dressing table with accessories, an office work station and a huge variety of memory-prompting items.
There’s also an array of stimulating interactive activities as well as a specialist ‘magic table’ which has to be seen to be believed!
Enriched Dining
Enriched Dining at Sunrise of Weybridge promotes residents’ well-being by addressing nutrition, hydration, social connection, cognitive and physical abilities. Menus and show plates trigger the taste buds, whilst colour contrasting tableware assists residents to distinguish food on the plate. Gentle background music provides a stimulating and pleasant environment to encourage a social dining experience.
Each resident is provided a choice at meal times with menu selections that are appealing and nutritious and we encourage family-style dining – where staff sit and dine with residents – to support and promote social relationships.
Comforting Bedrooms
There are 43 dementia-friendly bedrooms on our memory floor, all designed to keep residents safe, independent and to promote well-being.
Residents are encouraged to bring pieces of furniture or treasured items to help them settle in, as well as their favourite photographs and mementos to trigger happy memories and important milestones in their lives.

Participating in everyday familiar activities, hobbies and interests is important to wellbeing and maintaining abilities.
Our team uses a recognised cognitive assessment tool to develop an Individual Activity Plan for each resident to ensure that activities meet every resident’s interests, abilities and needs.
