Teams normally compete in leagues around Surrey (Guildford, Woking) and Middlesex (Hounslow & Staines)
No junior section or beginners.
Affiliated to the Surrey County Badminton Association
and The Badminton Association Of England.
Stepgates is a well established, friendly badminton club, established for over 40 years. We have traditionally run several league teams across a broad range of ability at ladies and mens level doubles and mixed doubles. We hope to resume running teams once we have recruited some new members.
The club uses feather shuttles in both club games and league matches.
The club plays on a Wednesday night with courts being shared equally between Club sessions and any Home Matches which may be taking place. When matches finish, all courts become available for club use and team players can join in the club session.
Important Standard Guidance (Editor’s Note):
Stepgates Badminton Club is a friendly mixed club playing a strong level of competitive badminton.
Almost all players in the club regularly play league matches against other clubs or are of a standard where they have the potential to progress to compete at this level.
The club welcomes visitors and new members, but due to the above it is best suited to strong players with league experience, not beginners or some intermediate players who might find the level too strong.
I can recommend the Hinchley Wood Monday Club for players whose standard is intermediate to strong, wishing to play social, not league badminton.
Joining: New members are welcome. Visitors fees are £5 per night. (fees do count towards when you join).
If you are interested in joining email address removed, Stepgates Badminton Club has now shut down

Membership Fees: In 2022/23 the full adult subscription will be £120 (this includes Badminton England membership). Match fees (if selected) are £5 per match. Junior members (in full-time education) pay half rates in each case.
Main Season: The main season runs from September to April during which there are club nights played Wednesday nights.
Summer Season: The summer season runs from July to August during which there are club nights played Wednesday nights. We welcome visitors from other clubs to come along and play with us particularly in the summer season.
