Reflexology is a non-intrusive
complementary therapy, based on the theory
that different points on the feet
(reflexes) correspond with organs and
systems of the body. |
It is holistic and aims to work alongside
allopathic healthcare to promote better health. |
Gentle pressure is applied to the reflexes
on the feet. This has a therapeutic
affect on the whole body, inducing
relaxation , |
returning the body to a state of balance and
well-being. Professional reflexologists do not
claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.
However Reflexology is a very individual
treatment.
With ever increasing levels of stress in
everyday life, it is important for people to
take responsibility for their own healthcare
needs. |
Reflexology may be one of
the ways to mitigate the stresses and
strains. |
By helping to reduce the effects of stress - a
known contributor of many anxieties,
conditions and illnesses, Reflexology can help
to alleviate the impact on the body both
physically and emotionally. |
Fertility |
Alison specialises in treating for natural and
assisted conception and fertility issues. |
Her treatments may be adapted to support and |
mirror Assisted Reproductive protocols such as
IVF/ICSI and IUI. |
Treatment can reduce the effects of stress and
anxiety and help prepare you physically and
emotionally for these procedures. |
Pregnancy
& Post Natal Balance |
Reflexology is highly recommended throughout
pregnancy (from first Trimester) through to your
due date to aid relaxation and help reduce the
discomforts that pregnancy can bring |
Soon after your baby is born, treatment may help
to encourage the body back into its natural
rhythm and bring about a state of |
homeostatis - a stable internal
environment. |
Hormonal Imbalance |
Our bodies are constantly in a state of hormonal
flux. Intake of caffeine, sugar, alcohol,
nicotine etc or emotional/physical stress, put
pressure on our internal environment. |
Our hormone levels are disrupted adding
further pressure to our nervous and endocrine
systems. Ultimately our hormonal balance
becomes affected and we begin to experience
such problems as; Eczema, headaches, PMT,
Psorasis, irregular cycles, heavy or no periods,
lack of ovulation, bloating, insomnia etc. |
Menopause |
A natural hormonal process that usually happens
slowly, around late 40s to early 50s but early
menopause is on the rise with women starting in
their late 30s. Although a natural process, the
side effects can, for some women, severely
impact on their day to day life. Treatment may
help to reduce the impact of stress and
rebalance the body. Of course it cannot stop the
natural process but may help to smooth out the
disruptive effects. |
