It’s the roaring 20s and the annual Owl & Pussycat Ball is in full swing. The ball celebrates the famous poem by Edward Lear, a guest of the hotel in the 19th century. The occasion has evolved into a glamorous masked ball, at a time of great celebration after the Great War.
One of the country’s most eligible bachelors, Clifton Bridges, has left society in suspense by announcing his intended engagement but not disclosing the name of his intended fiancé. Bridges has been linked to many women including the much admired actress Ava Everett and Lady Grace Branston, the daughter of the late Lord Branston.
Ava’s uncle Harold has expressly forbidden the marriage and when his body is discovered in suspicious circumstances a murder investigation begins.
Join high society for an evening of glamour and intrigue. There is an old French saying, ‘Sous le masque, la vérité!’ – Beneath the mask, the truth! Will you be able to help our investigating officer to discover the truth in this case?
Dress up in glamour 1920s evening wear, and do not forget to bring a mask.

Main: Supreme of Corn fed Chicken, tarragon jus, Dauphinoise potatoes, summer greens.
Dessert: English Apple Pie, vanilla cream.

Grilled artichoke & goat’s cheese tartlet, wild rocket, walnut, balsamic glaze.

Rate validity: 23rd November 2018 only. No other vouchers or discounts are permitted in conjunction with these offers.
Minimum Numbers:
Please note in order for these events to take place a minimum number of guests must be achieved. As such, should we not achieve the required minimum number of ticket sales, we reserve the right to offer all booked guests to switch to an alternative event date or to be offered a full refund should the event need to be cancelled. We will endeavour to notify guests as soon as possible should this be the case.
Payment Terms:
Full payment is required at the time of booking in order to confirm your place(s). Payment can be made by credit or debit card over the telephone. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable with the exception of our minimum number requirement where we reserve the right to offer an alternative date or refund should the alternative date not be suitable for you.

Special dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for, provided we are notified in advance.
Check In/ Check Out:
For residential guests check in is available from 15.00hrs on the day of the event, with check out at 11.00hrs the following morning after breakfast.

Smart Evening Wear. We kindly request that guests are smartly dressed and refrain from wearing t-shirts, ripped jeans and trainers.
