Stay Home Stay Safe Protect NHS - Elmbridge Borough Council - Covid-19 pandemic

Residents urged to avoid unnecessary outings

As we approach the bank holiday weekend, we urge all our residents to follow the government advice and avoid all non-essential outings.

In line with government advice, some of our carparks linked to commons and leisure areas are now closed but the areas still welcome walkers. If you go out for exercise, remember:

  • stay local and use open spaces near to your home – do not travel unnecessarily
  • only go outside alone or with members of your own household
keep at least 2 metres (6ft) away from anyone outside your household at all times
  • wash your hands as soon as you get home
  • do not meet others, even friends or family
  • if walking your dog in areas used by other people, keep your dog on a lead to ensure you can safely keep 2 metres away from others.
