Position: Permanent, Part-Time

Job Title: Housekeeper/Family Cook

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Hours Required: 22 -25 hours per week over a -4-day period. (Family can be fairly flexible to exact days and timings, but they will need 4 days covering and this will involve some weekend work)

Driver: Yes, a driver is preferred as the house is not easily accessible.

Summary:

The role is to provide basic care in the form of catering to provide daily and evening meals to an elderly gentleman who is the sole occupant of the house.  He is fully mobile and independent but needs to have someone to cook meals and keep house in clean and tidy order.      

Detached house with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large family home with a garden which is maintained by existing gardening staff. The family currently employ a housekeeper who has worked for the family for over 12 years and works on a part time basis.

Duties will include:

• Complete housekeeping
• Family laundry
• Cooking- family style
• Errands
• Dog walking

We are looking for someone who has a degree of resilience and will be able to cope with the challenges of dealing with an occasionally difficult older man.  You will have a maturity of approach, experience of dealing with older clients, flexibility, organisation skills, good sense of humour and a good range of basic cooking skills.
