Something new is coming to Chertsey this summer
Residents can explore Chertsey in a new way this summer with a free activity trail and three new mini parklets.
From 20 July to 13 September, residents can enjoy nature themed activities on the Bugs and Blooms Trail running across the town. Families can follow the trail at their own pace and choose which activities to complete during the summer holidays.
The project also includes three temporary green seating areas, known as parklets, where people can rest, meet friends and enjoy nature.
The project is funded by Active Travel England, and delivered by Surrey County Council and Active Surrey, with input from local children and artists.

The parklets include colourful plants that support bees, butterflies and other wildlife. Some plants are edible or sensory, giving children more opportunities to connect with nature.

Residents can also sign up to the BetterPoints app to earn rewards and the chance of winning some prizes
Matt Furniss, Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Economic Growth, said: “We are committed to reducing the number of cars on roads in Surrey and this new pop-up pilot is one of the innovative ways we are working with partners to make active travel more enjoyable. I’d encourage local families to take a look at the trail and make travelling around Chertsey fun this summer.”
