Weybridge Becoming the Focus of Business Development in Surrey
Weybridge may best be known as an idyllic town close enough to central London to be convenient but far enough away to not feel like it’s part of the city itself. However, it’s quickly picking up speed as a hub for business in itself. This year, a major local business event will be coming to the town, while a new business development looks to be finally moving forward. As the world of business in the UK continues to evolve, these steps will be welcomed.
An Expo to Support Local Business in Changing Times

In April of this year, the Business in Surrey Spring Expo marked a landmark occasion for the organisation. Held at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, it was the largest of its kind in two decades, welcoming 83 companies to exhibit over the five-hour event. The exciting news for Weybridge is that this year’s Autumn Expo will take place in our very own town.
This excitement is warranted, as the business expo facilitates local businesses of all sizes showing their wares, meeting and networking with complementary firms, and learning more about the way UK business is heading and how to get ahead. It comes at the perfect time, for in recent years the rapid advancement of technology and an increased need to compete online has been at the forefront of the minds of many business leaders.
You can see this in action everywhere online, from businesses offering free samples and trials to customers to the ever-evolving casino signup bonus and promo options scene. Businesses in iGaming are an extreme case, needing to offer competitive welcome bonuses like a £100 bonus with 100 free spins in order to stand out in a densely populated sector. Such a leaning on customer-facing boosts speaks to the competitiveness of the online space and how businesses need to adapt to this modern state of play.
Experts from across the local business space will be at hand to offer innovative ideas and networking opportunities to help firms get the edge in the digital space and beyond. Following the continued success of the Business in Surrey events, there will be a second in 2025. The organisers have said that they’ve overhauled the format to cut the costs of exhibitors, aiming to welcome more in. The Autumn Expo 2025 will be taking place in Weybridge at Mercedes-Benz World. Again, it will be a five-hour expo, running from 10:00 to 15:00 on Wednesday, 8 October.
A New Business Park to Work Around the Clock

Furthermore, over the last couple of years, Runnymede Borough Council has been looking to get the new Weybridge Business Park up and running. As it stands, the site for what would become a business park has been demolished and is ready for the new units to be built upon it. However, in March 2023, the planning committee at the council rejected a 20,000 square-metre warehouse, but later they gave the nod to a smaller scheme.
One of the biggest aspects that the developers want for Weybridge Business Park is for it to be a 24/7, 365-day-a-year operation. This would require approval to remove hours-of-use conditions for the site. To achieve approval, the new plans heard earlier this year include acoustic fences, which should reduce noise levels to a maximum of five decibels above the acceptable background sound levels during the night.
Both the potential Weybridge Business Park and the arrival of the Business in Surrey expo to the local area showcase just how much Weybridge is becoming a centre for local operations. Through the expo and once the park is approved, Weybridge will only enhance its standing as a local and national hub for savvy entrepreneurs.
