Full Size Brooklands Race Track
Scalextric race track being built to the full size and route of the original famous Brooklands race track for BBC TV - James May's Toy Stories
It was built on all remaining sections of the original Brooklands race track, but much of it has been lost and built on.

 So the 3 mile track had to go through gardens (Staniland Drive), over fences, through offices, across ponds and a busy road.
The plan was for Weybridge locals to race against Scalextric enthusiasts?
 Could they do it and if so who would win the race?
See BBC2 on 24th December (afternoon) or online on BBC iplayer for 1 week afterwards

James May's Toy Stories - The Toys Featured in This BBC TV Series
 
James May is out to prove why traditional, old fashioned toys are still relevant by pushing them to the limit in spectacular, supersize challenges. From full-size Lego houses to bridges made completely of Meccano, he shows what they are capable of.

James May's Toy Stories Airfix
James takes model aeroplanes to a new level when he tries to make a full-size Spitfire out of Airfix. The venture soon hits problems when it becomes clear the giant 36-foot pieces may not be strong enough, and nobody knows how they will fit together.
James hopes he can enthuse a group of reluctant teenagers to help him pull it off - but he soon realises he has another big battle on his hands convincing them it is a hobby to be proud of.

James May's Toy Stories Lego
James May continues his quest to show what is possible with old-fashioned toys by using them on a scale never seen before.
In one of his biggest challenges yet, James attempts to build a full-size house out of Lego. Legoland Windsor - Great rides & attractions. Fun for the family - also Corporate Events
With thousands of people and over three million Lego bricks, James attempts to do what no-one has ever managed, to build a two-storey house using this colourful toy.

James May's Toy Stories Meccano
James May continues his quest to show what is possible with old-fashioned toys by using them on a scale never seen before.
James joins forces with Edwina Currie to build a full-size bridge from nothing but Meccano. Top engineers pitch incredible designs, but the project soon careers out of control when the Meccano does not arrive and James realises the structure will take longer to build than he imagined. A last-minute accident also means that James's bridge may never see the light of day.

James May's Toy Stories Plasticine
James May continues his quest to show just what is possible with old-fashioned toys by using them on a scale never seen before.
James tries to make a garden entirely out of Plasticine and then enter it at the Chelsea Flower Show.
He persuades thousands of members of the British public to help make the thousands of Plasticine flowers he needs, but will it be enough to persuade the guardians of the world's most prestigious horticultural event to let him make a garden with no real flowers in it?
While visiting celebrities like Stephen Fry and Joanna Lumley are clearly impressed with James's creation, the RHS judges take a dimmer view, forcing James to defy tradition and take matters into his own hands

James May's Toy Stories Scalextric
James May subjects traditional toys to supersize challenges. Here, he attempts to build a three-mile-long Scalextric track at Brooklands in Surrey.
The route included Staniland Drive housing estate, The Proctor & Gamble Offices, The Sony HQ (Lake / Pond)
The Brooklands community raced an Aston Martin DB9. Would it be a Guinness World Record?

This was taken at Painshill Park, near Cobham, Surrey, a beautiful place. The Gothic Temple is a 'folly' in the great tradition of English landscape gardens. It is just one of several in the park, but arguably the most idyllically placed
