Lifestyle and care at Sutton Lodge
|
|
Moving into a care
home can be an anxious time for residents and their
families alike. With this in mind, our emphasis is
always on maintaining the highest standards of care and
comfort in a way that meets personal needs. We achieve
this by employing dedicated, well trained staff and by
providing comfortable and homely surroundings. |
|
At Sutton Lodge we encourage a full
and active lifestyle wherever possible, but above all
each resident is an individual and is encouraged to
exercise choice in all aspects of their care. We want
residents to feel very much at home with rules and
regulations kept to the minimum. |
 |
Help and companionship is always on
hand. The friendly and homely atmosphere we've created
at Sutton Lodge ensures that everyone continues their
daily life with personal privacy and dignity as well as
the highest standard of care. |
|
Sutton Lodge is managed by a Home
Manager experienced in the care of elderly people.
Registered Nurses and Care Assistants provide 24 hour
support in a professional and caring way. |
|
Each resident’s
care is carried out by either qualified nursing staff or
a care assistant, in accordance with each
individual’s care plan, which is regularly monitored and
updated. In addition, occupational and speech therapy,
chiropody and psychotherapy can be arranged. We are also
happy to arrange appointments as necessary with dentists
and opticians. |
|
|
Location
|
|
|
Sutton Lodge is
situated in the small town of Weybridge in Surrey,
renowned for its high-class residential areas and is
only a short distance from the town centre which retains
a village atmosphere with a range of traditional shops.
It is also conveniently close to Walton-on-Thames Surrey
which has a larger shopping centre including a new
indoor shopping mall. For directions for finding Sutton Lodge Nursing Home,
see the Contact us section below. |
|
Our
home
|
|
|
This Edwardian house has been carefully converted and
extended into a comfortable and welcoming home offering
every modern comfort. |
|
Sutton Lodge has a
number of reception rooms and a delightful conservatory
that provides a central meeting place where residents
can get together, read or simply chat. |
 |
|
The home benefits
from a mature garden with trees, flower beds and a
converted pergola which gives a shaded area for
residents to spend a pleasant afternoon relaxing
outdoors. We know how important it is to keep in touch
with friends and relatives, so our door is always open
to guests. |
|
All 25 single and
double bedrooms are attractively decorated and furnished
to a high standard - most with en-suite facilities. Each
one is equipped with a remote controlled television and
a telephone point, enabling each resident to stay in
touch with everyday life outside the home. Modern safety
features are fitted in each room which includes a 24 hour
nurse call system, smoke detectors and thermostatic
radiators. To make their room feel as much like home as
possible, residents are encouraged to bring their
personal belongings such as ornaments, pictures and
small items of furniture. |
|
|
Cuisine
|
 |
|
The appetising meals prepared by our Chef Manager are an
important part of everyone’s day. They are served in the
home’s dining room. Meals may also be taken in a
resident’s own room if they prefer to have a change.
It’s their choice! |
|
There is always a
varied menu providing a balanced and nutritious
diet and special dietary needs can also be catered for.
Chef regularly discusses menus with residents and is
always willing to accommodate any suggestions where
possible. |
|
Activities
at Sutton Lodge
|
|
At Sutton Lodge it’s easy to make new
friends and enjoy the social company of other residents.
Our Activities Co-ordinator ensures that there is always
something going on that’s enjoyable and stimulating to
do, such as basic gardening, craft work and quizzes,
with personal hobbies and interests always encouraged. |
|
Our activities programme includes a
varied and enjoyable social calendar, with visits to
Worthing and local places of interest such as RHS Wisley
Gardens, Saville Gardens and Brooklands Motor Museum.
Entertainers regularly visit the home to play music and
encourage the residents to sing along to their favourite
songs. |
|
|
|
Types of
stay
|
|
At Sutton Lodge we can offer care to
suit individual needs. Long term care for those who need
daily nursing perhaps due to age or an on-going medical
condition, respite care to enable carers to take a much
deserved break and convalescent or post-operative care
for residents recovering from an accident, illness or
operation. |
|
Sutton Lodge also has close links with specialist nurses
in the local community which provides expertise and
support if required. |
|
Fees and
information
|
 |
|
Our fees vary according to the resident’s individual
needs, type of accommodation and length of stay. They
cover single and double bedrooms, mostly en-suite, full
board and 24 hour qualified care. |
|
Our Home manager will be pleased to advise you of the
full details of any items and services that can be
arranged, but are charged as extra and will also give
you details of our contact and of the formal procedure
for making suggestions or complaints. The latest home
inspection report is available from the Home Manager. |
