Pregnancy Yoga
|
| Yoga is
very beneficial to pregnant women on
many levels. The breathing techniques,
strength and stamina cultivated through
pregnancy yoga are undoubtedly the most
useful tools a woman can use when giving
birth. The breathing, gentle exercise
and guided relaxations soothe the
nervous system and help with the
physical and emotional demands of
pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood. |
| Pregnancy yoga is a safe form
of exercise to practice and the gentle
posture work will release tension in the
shoulders, ease back pain, open up the
body and strengthen the spine and
encourage the baby into the best
position for labour. The resulting sense
of wellbeing and harmony within mind,
body and spirit makes for a calm, happy
and healthy pregnancy, nourishing mother
and child(ren). |

| Midwives claim they can
tell when a woman has practiced yoga
during pregnancy; she breathes well
through contractions, is more aware of
her potential for movement and working
with gravity, and is able to let go,
tune into herself and work with the
natural process of childbirth. Posture
work practiced in classes helps to
prepare the body for labour, and
specific exercises to help the baby down
through the pelvis are taught. |
| Yoga can also alleviate
Pelvic Girdle Pain or SPD. Much
attention is given to strengthening the
pelvic floor, giving optimal support
through pregnancy and speeding recovery
after the birth. |
| Equally importantly,
pregnancy yoga classes offer some much
needed time out and enhance the
connection between mother and baby,
nurturing both |

Pregnancy Yoga Testimonials
|
|
“I find my pregnancy yoga class
fantastic, I began to get lower back
pain when I became pregnant but
Christina has done a fantastic job and I
no longer feel pain, I enjoy every class
and I highly recommend her to everyone
who is pregnant. The classes are very
easy to follow, there is always a
variety of postures in the class and I
find the pelvic floor exercises really
helpful. I enjoy my pregnancy classes
and always leave feeling relaxed and
looking forward to the next.” -
Lisa Marie |

| “I have never felt
as relaxed as I do when lying on
Christina's floor! The mantra she taught
me has really helped me to sleep at
night. I also like to practice some of
the exercises from the class daily.” -
Helen |
| |
| “Thanks for all the
yoga, it made a huge difference and
definitely helped as we only had to use
the gas & air. I am sure we will be back
at some point.” - Claire |
| |
| “Thank you for all
the prep. It worked! When does mum and
baby yoga start?!” - Joanne |

are an important time for your body. The
immense changes undergone during
pregnancy and labour take their toll on
the muscles, joints and in particular,
the pelvic floor. |
 |
| Mother and baby classes
are a wonderful opportunity to realign
the spine, regain your strength and
tone, internally as well as externally
and take some much deserved time to
restore energy levels and relax. |
