Old Georgians Hockey Club
Old Georgians
Hockey Club
In 1965, three ex St.
Georges' College pupils decided to set up a
hockey club and they set themselves the
ambitious target of becoming a National League
hockey side within ten years with the ultimate
goal of achieving promotion to the Premier
League. To help put this into perspective, it is
like a newly formed football team aiming to
compete with Chelsea and Arsenal by gaining
eight consecutive promotions.
This is exactly what the OGHC
has achieved and last season missed out on the
promotion playoffs by one point.
Nicky Thompson, our first team player/coach, who
overseas all aspects of the clubs coaching, has
recently been appointed assistant coach to the
England U21 squad reflecting how highly regarded
he is.
So why not come and join us and be part of this
exciting club?
