Strictly Time To Enjoy Yourself! |
|
If you've watched the popular Strictly Come Dancing on TV
you will have heard all the celebrities saying how much they
loved learning to dance and wished they'd started dancing
sooner. This is your chance to be part of the fun rather
than just being an on-looker. |
|
|
What Is Modern Jive? |
|
Modern Jive
has it all -
It's Easy to learn, it's great Fun,
has Superb Music, It's extremely Social
a great way to Keep Fit |
 |
|
Every Sunday
7pm Beginners Club
8pm Intermediate Lessons
Then join in Freestyle until 10.30pm |
|
|
Sometimes known as Ceroc,
Modern Jive is a combination of many well-known dance styles
such as Jive, Salsa, Rock-n-Roll and Ballroom to name but a
few. |
|
If you've seen fast Jive on Strictly Come Dancing and are
worried that it's too energetic, don't worry - Modern Jive
is a different dance. It's a much slower and relaxing pace
(without kicks and flicks) that everyone can cope with and
enjoy. |
Musical Styles
Modern Jive lends itself to many musical styles from 40's
swing, through the decades up to today's latest pop chart
music. |
It's Easy To Learn
(no fancy footwork) so within a short time, total beginners
to Modern Jive can look as if they've been dancing for years |

Calling all Music
Lovers
We are pleased to present
for your entertainment: |
 |
|
Scratch
& Jane |
|
Scratch is a confident musician with
an extensive music genre consisting of rock, reggae, blues,
soul, funk & country, and he is a much sought-after
musician. Jane Grey is John’s wife and comes from
Surrey. Jane grew up within a musical family: both parents
played the piano & her father Roy Berry was awarded 3 Ivor
Novello awards during his music publishing career. |
|
Jane’s father was a strong influence
in her early years: she started piano lessons at six and
graduated to learning the cello to Grade VII by the time she
was 14, together with developing an interest in singing.
|
|
Lead vocalist in the school choir ,
then formed an amateur pop band at the age of 20. She
also provides vocals for a ten-piece soul and blues
functions band, "Orange", and since recently rediscovering
the keyboards she is developing these skills in various
other bands also. |
