Our 4th walk, starting at
midnight on Friday 24th June 2011 |
The 10-mile course meanders through West
Byfleet, Weybridge and Brooklands. To
date, walkers have made a real
difference, raising around £450,000 in
three years. |
Proceeds from last year’s walk went
towards the Hospices’ joint Emergency
Appeal. For a while, the highly-praised
Day Care service at Woking and Sam Beare
had to be suspended due to lack of funds
and it was missed terribly by patients
and their families. We’re delighted
to report that by the time this year’s
event takes place, Day Care will have
been fully re-instated at both Hospices. |
|
It costs nearly £15,000 a day to provide
our current services free of charge. In
the sanctuary of their own room in one
of our Hospices, a very poorly patient
can maintain their dignity and receive
expert medical care to manage their
pain. Extended visiting allows them to
spend time with their loved ones. |
|
Now we also want to offer support to
people in their own homes, giving
families more precious hours together.
For that to become a reality, we will
need every £ you can raise. Please sign
up today. |
