The Main Event

The main arena event at the Village Fayre is the
Essex Dog Display Team at approx 1.15pm and 3.30pm

Dod Display Team from Essex coming to Oatlands Village Fayre Weybridge / Walton on Thames Surrey

Essex Dog Display Team

Working with many different breeds of dogs, the Essex Dog Display team produce a professional action pakced and entertaining display, coupled with a superb commentary, these happy dogs will leave the audience spellbound.

The central feature of the display is a 100ft by 8ft high ramp which the dogs negotiate at high speed through hoops of fire, also on the ramp a unique demonstration of dogs negotiating human obstacles.

Controlled attack dogs apprehend fleeing criminals whilst under 'gunfire'. Searching and retrieving and agility races, are just some of the many exercises included in the display. The team do not teach exercises that the public are known to frown on, such as walking along parallel bars or wire bond or high ladders.

Many of the dogs in the team are rescue dogs and organisers of events together with the public need to know the welfare of the dogs is paramount. So as well as the CLA Game Fair, County Shows, the Five Nations Rugby Tournament at Twickenham, the team also appear at many other varied events. Canine organisations such as the Kennel Club, Police Forces, Guide Dogs, Battersea Dogs Home and animal welfare groups have all asked the team to appear at their events.

About Oatlands Village Fayre

Oatlands Village Fayre
Saturday 7th May 2011 12.30 pm
Oatlands Recreation Ground, Oatlands, Weybridge, Surrey

The Oatlands Village Fayre is a traditional village fayre Oatlands Village Fayre is a traditional village fayre that has been running continuously
since 1962. It is organised primarily by parents and friends of Oatlands Scout and Guide Groups for the enjoyment of local people and is a well established local community event.

Initially it was held in the Working Men’s Club in Oatlands Village, Weybridge but it soon outgrew this site and relocated to its present site at the Oatlands Recreation Ground, opposite Oatlands Park Hotel.

The Fayre attracts 4,000 paying visitors and has 50 stalls manned by volunteers or commercial organisations. Each year there is always a main attraction. But there will also be the Cleves School Steel Pans, the Cubs Tug of War competition and the Oatlands Pipe Band, amongst other displays.

Oatlands Village Fair - Always a good crowd for this enjoyable family event

Oatlands Village Fayre - A Family Event

This is a fund raising event but it is also a special local community day. Old acquaintances/friendships are re-made and community well-being and spirit is strengthened. Last year the fair raised a record-breaking £13,000. In excess of £10,000 has been raised each year for the previous three years and this is then distributed to many local charities including the local Scouts and Guides packs, Walton Leigh School for Special Needs, Youth Carers, Oatlands School, and Cleves School.

Good Causes Helped
The proceeds benefit Oatlands Scouts, Guides and the following local charities and good causes:

St John Ambulance, Oatlands Pipe Band, St Mary's Church Oatlands, Oatlands Infants School, Cleves School, St James School, Mencap of Walton, Samaritans, Lower Mole Countryside Trust, Elmbridge Community Link, Young Carers of Elmbridge, Weybridge District Rangers, Walton Leigh School for Special Needs and Oatlands Village Hall.

This year we have received support from the following organisations without whose kind support the Oatlands Village Fayre 2010 would not have been possible:
Churchfield Nursery School, Martin Flashman, Toshiba, Sony, Procter and Gamble
