The Main Event |
|
This year the main arena event at the Village Fayre is the
K9 Freestyle Dancing Dog Display at approx 2pm and 3.45pm |
 |
 |
|
K9 Dancing Show |
|
|
The K9 Freestyle dancing dog display is basically One Man
and His Dog without the sheep but with music instead!! This
new arena display is totally unique and always entertains
and astounds the audience. This professional canine
demonstration consists of each of the dogs performing a
short canine freestyle routine with their top trainer
Richard Curtis. The heelwork to music routines show dogs at
different levels of training and show off each dogs
character, sometimes with amusing results!!!! |
|
|
See the 4 dog team which includes a Portuguese Water Dog who is
Crufts 2006 Freestyle Champion. |
|
|
Richard Curtis shows the audience how to Tango with a Terrier or
Boogie with a Boxer! |

About Oatlands Village Fayre |
Oatlands Village
Fayre
Saturday 10 May 2008 12.30 pm
Oatlands Recreation Ground, Oatlands, Weybridge, Surrey |
|
The Oatlands Village Fayre has been
running annually for in excess of 50 years and is a well
established local community event. Initially it was held in
the Working Men’s Club in Oatlands Village, Weybridge but it
soon outgrew this site and relocated to its present site at
the Oatlands Recreation Ground, opposite Oatlands Park
Hotel. |

Trampoline Act at 2005 Fayre |
|
|
The Fayre attracts 4,000 paying visitors
and has 50 stalls manned by volunteers or commercial
organisations. Each year there is always a main attraction –
this year we have an escapologist who will be escaping from
a diving fireball and an exploding coffin. But there will
also be the Cleves School Steel Pans, the Cubs Tug of War
competition and the Oatlands Pipe Band, amongst other
displays. |

Oatlands Village
Fayre - A Family Event |
|
|
This is a fund raising event but it is
also a special local community day. Old
acquaintances/friendships are re-made and community
well-being and spirit is strengthened. In excess of £10,000
has been raised each year for the last three years and this
is then distributed to many local charities including the
local Scouts and Guides packs, Walton Leigh School for
Special Needs, Youth Carers, Oatlands School, and Cleves
School. |
|
Good Causes Helped
The proceeds benefit Oatlands Scouts, Guides and the following
local charities and good causes: |
|
St John Ambulance, Oatlands Pipe Band, St Mary's
Church Oatlands, Oatlands
First County School, Cleves School, St James School, Mencap of
Walton, Samaritans, Lower Mole Countryside Trust, Elmbridge Community Link, Young Carers of Elmbridge, Weybridge
District Rangers, Walton Leigh School for Special Needs and Oatlands Village Hall. |

community.
If you can commit to attending 7 evening meetings
(7.45pm – 10.00pm) from October to June and are able to give some
time for Fayre preparation activities along the way, especially
leading up to the Fayre – we would like to hear from you.
