How Yoga Can Improve All Aspects Of Your Life - Free Talk

Opening Evening For The New Year Of Yoga classes

"The Knowledge Of Liberation" - How Yoga Can Improve All Aspects Of Your Life
This event is for everyone interested in being more content and fulfilled in life, healthier, happier, experiencing inner peace, love, spirituality, wealth and well being though yoga, tantra and meditation!
If you ever wanted to embark on a self transformation path that you can master and which can remove your stress and bring you joy, glowing health, fulfilling life in all its aspects and happiness beyond your wildest dreams - don't miss this event!
We all seek, consciously or not, to rise above the limited notion of what we are.
More exactly, we seek to rise above what we usually think we are. We will talk about Yoga - and how its practice can improve all aspects of your life. Yoga is what we traditionally call "the knowledge of liberation".
Yoga Talk in Weybridge by Surrey Yoga Friends Yoga leads to bliss (samadhi). Although this word exists and is common in every language, the word "samadhi" denotes a state accessible to only a small number of people.
Experiencing this bliss means to be in full resonance with the beneficial energies of the Universe.
By reaching the state of samadhi or full bliss, the yogi gets confirmation of "completion". This is where the ineffable fusion occurs between man''s ultimate essence and the Supreme Macrocosmic Universal essence, God.
The method we present here has been already applied with great results by tens of thousands of people all over the world - it can be practiced by everybody, irrespective of age, believes, religion, social status or physical health. Being scientific and practical and also founded in the deepest spiritual tradition of our planet, this method leads to a profound spiritual transformation of the one who perseveres enough.
Following this free talk, Tara Yoga school will organise weekly classes at same location, every Saturday from 5pm to 7pm.

Mike Piggott - Jazz Violin
" One of the best swing jazz fiddle players anywhere...."
(New York Jazz Times)

"He plays confident, swinging violin in a style based on Stephane Grappelli with aspects of Eddie South and Stuff Smith, mixed into what emerges as a very personal means of expression"....."I hope Mike's enterprise in making this open-minded record receives the reception it so richly deserves"...."..impressive versatility" (Jazz Journal International).

Live Music Saturday 10th October 2015
21:00 to 23:00 - The 95 All Stars
The 95 All Stars playing at Oatfest Beer Festival Oatlands Weybridge
Times have changed for these young (ish) lads from Surrey. As time has gone by, so have the many bands that they have played in. Orginial bands with an Indie, Funk, Hip Hop and Rock Vibe. So how do you keep the passion alive in a time where Simon Cowell is sucking the life from any aspect of true musical talent???

Playing songs from the 90's, whilst belting some tunes from the 60's & 70's too!!! From Blur to The Beatles, Kula Shaker to The Rolling Stones, not forgetting Foo Fighters, Jake Bugg, Stereophonics, Fleetwood Mac.

The All Stars played early on the Friday of Oatfest 2014. This year they are back with a better set and will be closing the Oatlands Festival for 2015. NOT TO BE MISSED!

18:00 to 20:00 - The Curious Suspects
Each of the Curious Suspects is serving life for beating NASA to Mars. Each of them says they did not do it. They would say that. While serving in Wandsworth Prison in the 1970's when they were young men they listened to transistors. Smuggled into cells. Taped to raditors. They heard:- Bonzo Dog Doodah Band, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Chuck Berry, Gary Moore, Steve Ray Vaughan, Black Crowes. They brgan to breathe music. They played anything that kicked up a beat. They became the Curious Suspects.

Music is their rehabilitaion, and they hold the prestigious world record for the loudest harmonica player to ever perform in a band.

For the first time since 1971 (the drummer) and 1979 (the keys) they are out. Day Relaese. On Licence. To play to the public. Do not become a victim of their rehabilitation... BE PART OF IT!!!!!

2015, will be the debut year of the Curious Suspects at the Oatlands Festival. They are supporting The 95 All stars, another band to get your foot tapping to, whilst the beer is flowing!!!

14:00 to 16:00 - Luke Rendell
Luke has recently been working with You Me At Six as a session musician, playing electric, acoustic and baritone guitar and singing backing vocals. He has performed in prestigious venues such as Wembley Arena, Brixton Academy, Manchester Apollo and many more including major festivals in the UK and Europe, and have made several TV and Radio appearances. Classic British Pop and Rock & Roll from Gnarls Barkley to Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry to John Mayer, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Daft Punk & Oasis to name a few!

Luke played last year in the Afternoon, he was such a hit that he has agreed to come back and play at the same time on the Saturday.

Beers - The Oatlands Festival 2015 Real Ale Selection
Brightwater Brewery - Claygate, Surrey

Daisy Gold - A popular Golden Ale with a bitter sweet aftertaste. The flagship ale of Brightwater Brewery. ABV 4%

Little Nipper - A lovely little Golden number - Describe as a Comfortable Pint. ABV 3.3%

Top Notch - Clean tasting, balanced Amber Ale with a floral note. ABV 3.6%

All Citra - A very refreshing ale, brewed with only citra hops resulting in a distinctive citrus flavour. ABV 4.3%

Wild Orchid - An Oatmeal Porter, which is further enhanced with a plump Madagascan Vanilla Pod in each cask, resulting in a beer with fragant vanilla undertones. ABV 4%

Lipsmacker IPA - A new Ale for Brightwater. Golden/Pale in Colour. Hoppy taste. ABV 4.8%

Surrey Hills Brewery - Dorking, Surrey

Ranmore Ale - A straw coloured extremely moorish session beer that has a susprisingly full flavour for its strength. A pleasant & distintive aroma is followed by a moderate hop bitterness. The fresh finish leaves you wanting another... ABV 3.8%

Shere Drop - The Flagship beer is pale in colour with a subtle hint of grapefruit and lemon in the aroma. The wonderful hop bitterness is complemented by a balanced malt flavour. The beer has a long finish, which is moderately dry. ABV 4.2%

Tillingbourne Brewery - Shere, Surrey

A.O.N.B - A gorgeous floral and fruity ale which is brewed and dry hopped using copious amounts of cascade hops. The strong hop taste stays with you to the bottom of the glass. This dry hopped version of Falls Gold, has been fermented over a longer period of time and at a lower temperature to reduce the ABV slightly whilst retaining body. It has a strong cascade hop nose and taste. ABV 4%

EVO 5 - Based on The Source (another beer from Tillingbourne). It is a light drinking Citra & Amarillo hopped beer. We are still waiting to be told the name of this special/ one off beer from Tillingbourne. ABV 3.8%

Frensham Brewery - Frensham, Surrey

Rambler - An award winning golden refreshing session ale. Fruity hops with an oak edge give rise to a satisfying bitterness. A well rounded and intresting combintation of both floral and hop aromas make for an easy light beer. ABV 3.9%

Ascot Ales - Camberley, Surrey

Posh Pooch - A light copper coloured Best Bitter. The use of American hops gives a wonderful fruity taste and aroma. ABV 4.2%

Red IPA - Heavily hopped Red IPA, 3 times as many hops as our regular bitters. Cascade, Centennial, Summit & Nelson Sauvin hops give a citrusy grapefruit aroma and flavour. ABV 5.5%

On the Rails - A hoppy mild. It's a smooth drinking dark session beer to saviour with a distinctive hop character. ABV 3.8%

Windsor & Eton Brewery - Windsor, Berkshire

Canberra - A rich chestnut coloured beer brewed with dark malts including Imperial, Chocolate & Dark Aromatic. Also has Maple Syrup from Canada, along with hops from Australia (Galaxy) and New Zealand (Motueka and Nelson Sauvign). ABV 4%

Conqueror Black IPA - This rich, complex and distinctive ale is one of the UK's most talked about beer for two reasons. Firstly the name generates controversy. This beer is brewed in the IPA style ie Strong, dry and hoppy (all features to cope with the ardious journey to India) but it certainly isn't pale. The blackness of the beer is produced using a blend of 5 malts including Chocolate, dark Crystal, Carafa and Smoked Malts. Unlike a stout though this beer also packs a mighty punch of hop flavours derived from Summit & Cascade hops. The result is a completely different drinking experience. ABV 5%

Knight of the Garter - A flaxen-coloured, easy drinking golden ale. Brewed with American Amarillo whole leaf hops giving a distinctive fresh citrus aroma reminiscent of cut grapefruit. ABV 3.8%

Oatfest Oatis - A Traditional English Ale: 50:50, brewed using the hops and malts from two of Windsor & Etons flagship ales! Can you guess which two? If you can, we'll give you 1/2 a pint free!!! ABV 4%

Black Cat Brewery - Pale House Common, East Sussex

Hop Smack - A golden, citrusy style beer based on 100% pale malt. With a blend of Cascade and Amarillo hops. ABV 4%

Nine Tails - A dark beer brewed using a generous blend of pale, crystal and chocolate malts, with two bittering hops, which are combined with post boil fuggles to produce an awesome full bodied flavoured winter warmer. ABV 4.9%

Hall & Woodhouse's Badger Brewery

Blandford Flyer - A tawny, light golden brown beer. With hints of ginger spice and toffee. ABV 5.2% Bottled

Death Cafe In Weybridge - Let's Talk About Death

Organised By Woking & Sam Beare Weybridge Hospices

  • When: Monday 19th October 2015
  • Time: Drop In From 6.30pm
  • Where: Cafe Of Morrisons Supermarket, 15 Monument Hill, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 8RT

"At a Death Cafe people drink tea, eat cake and discuss death. Our aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives." - www.deathcafe.com
Let's Talk About Death
The first Death Cafe in this area will be taking place on Monday 19 October at Morrisons Cafe in Weybridge from 6:30pm and Woking & Sam Beare Hospices will be facilitating this first meeting. Death Cafe at Morrisons Supermarket Weybridge Surrey
The venue will provide a relaxed, comfortable environment which will be suitable for discussion, whilst enjoying a drink and a slice of cake.

It’s intended to be an open drop-in for the public to talk about a taboo subject which we must all face in the end. It is not a bereavement group, nor is it intended as a therapy session.

According to recent statistics 72% of the public believe people in Britain are uncomfortable discussing dying, despite 32% of adults thinking about it at least once a week.
Staff from Sam Beare Hospice are therefore hosting the first local Death Café in Weybridge to give people the opportunity to talk about living and dying, whilst enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake. The event will take place at Morrison’s Café, who have kindly given us free use of their facilities and where participants can purchase refreshments.

Community Nurse Specialist Maria Rebelo is keen to break one of modern society’s last remaining taboos, by offering an open forum where people can talk about something we must all face in the end; “I personally attended a Death Café to see what it was all about and was surprised to see how relaxed people were talking about a subject, which can be very difficult for people to address. By facilitating this event we hope to give people the opportunity to talk freely in a relaxed atmosphere about their thoughts and wishes, and hopefully they will then be able to talk more easily to their loved ones about it afterwards too.”

There will be no agenda or pre-set questions but our staff including Community Nurse Specialists, Counsellors and Spiritual Carers will be on hand to answer questions. It will be an open forum to talk about a taboo subject, which we must all face in the end, and is not a bereavement group nor intended as a therapy session.

The first Death Café was offered in London in 2011 and over 200 have been held since then. Entry is free but we need an indication of numbers and therefore ask people interested in attending to RSVP by texting 07759 765141 or send an email to deathcafe@wsbhospices.co.uk

For further information or any enquiries please call 01483 881750 or send an email to deathcafe@wsbhospices.co.uk

MUSIC on the GREEN is based at Christ Church Esher directly opposite and overlooking Esher Green. Its aims are to promote a wide variety of excellent music, to present music in a fresh and engaging way, and to encourage audiences from Esher and beyond.
Our concerts take place in Christ Church at the heart of Esher - a church which boasts an outstanding pipe organ, fine grand piano acquired in 2012 with a very generous loan, and good acoustics which all contribute to making our music so enjoyable.
MUSIC on the GREEN is about making music which is accessible to, and enjoyable by, as many people as possible without it being stuffy or cheapened. This is the reason for the MUSIC on the GREEN ‘brand’ – to give the music an identity of its own.
Music is about people, emotions, history… We blend all these ingredients and seek to present our music in interesting and rewarding ways, within its own context so that it can be widely appreciated and enjoyed.

Their talk is about the birds of Cuba. This is a fascinating country to visit with a rich variety of colourful and charismatic birds, many of them endemic to the island as well its unique culture and history.

Ann and Phil frequently give their illustrated talks to groups such as ours so this should be an excellent presentation.
Unless otherwise specified, you do not need to be a member of the RSPB (or the local group) to join us on our events, and birdwatching experience is not necessary. If you have any questions please get in touch with the contact shown with the event details.

Introduce your baby to songs, rhymes
and books at your library!
Weybridge Library - Fun for the children
Library rhymetime sessions are aimed at babies and toddlers, aged under 5, along with their parents and carers. The events are based entirely on sharing nursery rhymes, action songs and percussion music. It is fun, interactive and noisy!
Nursery rhymes are great for language development - they have a lot of rhythm which catch baby’s attention, and repetition, which is good for speech development. It is also a nice way of introducing babies and toddlers to their local library!
Rhymetimes start with finger rhymes and action songs. Percussion instruments accompany the rhythmic songs and the sessions end with some closing songs.
Tickets are free and must be booked in person by coming into the library between Sunday and Wednesday for the Thursday Rhymetimes.
For Saturday Rhyme sessions, you can book your place by coming into the library in person any time from the Saturday before. We look forward to seeing you there.
