A date for your diary and a funding opportunity you may wish
to consider. |
|
The Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership will be
holding a public meeting on June 16. |
|
The event will involve the executive members of the
Partnership taking questions from the public, reporting on
the progress made over the last year and the plans for
future work. |
|
Senior Officers of Surrey Police, Surrey Fire & Rescue
Service, Elmbridge Borough Council, Surrey County Council,
Surrey & Sussex Probation Trust, NHS Surrey, Surrey Police
Authority, Elmbridge Housing Trust (non-statutory member)
and the Portfolio Holder for Community Safety in Elmbridge
will be present for the question and answer sessions. |
|
During the evening the Safety Partnership will be launching
its Partnership Plan for 2010/11, which identifies the
priorities they will focus on in the year ahead, which are: |
- Reducing anti social behaviour / Promoting
positive youth activities - Reducing violence / Reducing
substance misuse - Reducing crime / Increasing public
confidence |
|
New for this year is the establishment of an Elmbridge
Community Safety Fund where the public present at the
meeting will be able to decide on funding for community
safety projects nominated by the public up to the value of
£500 each. The fund has been established with a grant of
£5,000 from the Partnership. |
|
This public meeting gives our communities the unique
opportunity to raise their concerns on community safety
issues direct with all the senior representatives of the
main service providers sitting together. |
|
New Community Safety Fund |
|
The introduction of our new Community Safety Fund also gives
those present the ability to directly participate in the
allocation of resources where they believe it will achieve
the best results. |
|
The £500 limit will help ensure that any nominated projects
are very local and we would invite the public to submit bids
by the 1st of June. |
|
An application form and guidance notes are available at
www.elmbridge.gov.uk/Council/safety or direct from
the Community Safety Team. |
