Elmbridge Choir Seeks Deputy Musical Director

Elmbridge Choir News Release Sept 2011 |
|
If you are looking to obtain some musical leadership skills or enhance
those you already have, Elmbridge Choir would love to hear from you. |
|
The choir needs to find somebody with a passion for popular music who is
willing to work alongside and assist its Musical Director, Cliff van
Tonder, to inspire and teach this very popular and active 130-strong
mixed community choir. |
|
Elmbridge Choir is part of Elmbridge Music, a charitable musical society
which comprises two choirs and two bands, and which has in five years
raised more than £88,000 for charity. The choir has an extensive and
varied repertoire ranging from light-hearted 60s medleys to rock
classics to beautiful African songs. They rehearse weekly in Cobham and
perform around four or five concerts each year. |
|
A sense of fun and a commitment to the society's ethos of putting
something back into the community are more important than previous
leadership experience, but musical knowledge and in particular the
ability to play a keyboard is required. |
|
All of Elmbridge Music's leaders and performers do what they do simply
because they love it. As a charity they are unable to offer any monetary
incentive, however they believe that their new Deputy Musical Director
will find the personal challenges and rewards plentiful. |
