Celebrate 5 Years of Mercedes Benz World At Brooklands
This year, we’re celebrating our fifth
birthday with a bang - and we’d love for you to join
us.
On Sunday 6 November, we’re inviting friends
and neighbours to Mercedes-Benz World for our FREE annual
fireworks event. The fun kicks off at 3pm with the smart
car football match, which has to be seen to be believed.
We’re also offering free 4x4 Passenger Rides out on our
off-road course, plus all the usual Mercedes-Benz World
attractions.
Then at 5.15pm we’ll light up the
winter sky with a stunning firework display for the whole
community to enjoy - a fitting way to celebrate our first
five years here at Weybridge.
Since opening,
Mercedes-Benz World has transformed a toxic waste land
into a thriving contributor to the local economy. We’ve
injected new life into Brooklands, helped keep Britain’s
proud motorsport heritage alive and even facilitated a
natural habitat for wildlife.
All of which sounds
like very good cause for celebration!

& Jane
Since re-locating to the UK
permanently in 2001 from Australia/New Zealand, John
'Scratch' Grey has spent his time getting involved in
the music scene, with which it has rewarded him gigs in and
around London. This has culminated working with great
musicians and rubbing shoulders with some of the big names
in the music industry.
Musical career highlights have been
rewarding: one of the most personal being writing and
recording a special song for Nelson Mandela, and working and
writing a song for Greenpeace for their “Save the Seals”
campaign.
Scratch is a confident musician with
an extensive music genre consisting of rock, reggae, blues,
soul, funk & country, and he is a much sought-after
musician.
Influences: Dire Straits, Van
Morrison, Toto, Boz Scaggs, Eagles, George Benson, Larry
Carlton, U2, and a lot more
Jane Grey is John’s wife and comes
from Surrey. Jane grew up within a musical family: both
parents played the piano & her father Roy Berry was awarded
3 Ivor Novello awards during his music publishing career.
Jane’s father was a strong influence
in her early years: she started piano lessons at six and
graduated to learning the cello to Grade VII by the time she
was 14, together with developing an interest in singing.
Lead vocalist in the school choir ,
then formed an amateur pop band at the age of 20. She
also provides vocals for a ten-piece soul and blues
functions band, "Orange", and since recently rediscovering
the keyboards she is developing these skills in various
other bands also.
The NY Bar &
Grill has CLOSED so there will be no Cobham Parties until
we find a new venue
There are alternative venues for our parties, including
monthly parties at the Concorde Club Heathrow and
weekly parties at Maidenhead Berkshire on Fridays.

Healthy Walks are a round
the year programme of walks that provide an
enjoyable way to improve your health and fitness.
Participants are encouraged to walk briskly. For
health benefits you should breath more deeply and
feel warmer when you walk
Please choose the grading and length
of time your selected walk takes carefully and according to
your ability. If you are a novice walker please choose MOD 1
or less.
Although we do attempt to keep to the timing, a degree of
flexibility is needed. Stops for coffee are usually half and
hour. All ages can participate in Healthy Walks, but a
parent or carer must supervise walkers under 14.
No dogs unless stated otherwise
except assistance dogs; they must be kept on a lead.
Be sure to wear suitable clothing and footwear,
also bring some drinking water.

Nchanted is a fantastic
Spanish style duo playing guitar. ‘ We play fiery,
exciting, instrumental Spanish music’.
Guitarists Mark Etherton and
Russell Jarrett bring Mediterranean fire and
excitement to RED with their Spanish guitar duo.
Their music draws
inspiration from the Gypsy Kings, Nuevo Flamenco and
Latin Jazz, and never fails to please with it's
infectious rhythms and sparkling melodies.

wine, Father Christmas himself, Carol singing by the St James Church
Choir, as well as a few surprise celebrity guests,

proceeds will go towards the Sam Beare Hospice here
in Weybridge to help and support them and the
patients and families that they care for so please
come and show your support if you can.

The Little Parlour you can get sparkly drinks
and mince pies. Also you can get "Christmas Sparkly
Nails" as we will shape and paint your nails for a
small (or large!) donation to the
Sam Beare Hospice.
Proprietor Naomi will be
performing a few classic Jazz numbers in front of
The Baker Street Coffee House between 5.30 and 6pm,
again all in aid of the Sam Bear Hospice.
So, come along with your
family and friends to enjoy The Baker Street evening
of festivities and support the local community as

Over 70 vehicles, spanning the decades and
representing the field of conflict from around the
world, are expected for our annual Military Vehicle
Day, including Monty's staff car!.
As well as the spectacular displays in the
Paddock and around the site, there will be the
chance to see some of these machines put through
their paces as they tackle the off-road circuit at
Mercedes-Benz World, together with special
demonstrations and talks by the Royal Artillery with
their Rapier FSC guided weapon system.
The timetable of the day
is as follows:

It hasn't been a quick road
to success. Aaron's persistence is key to his
outstanding vocals and his natural ability to
captivate the audiences that he plays to. It all
started in the year 2000, when he first performed
live at a school concert. The story may sound cliche
but a 15 year old Aaron Norton had his audience
stunned to silence with his rendition of "Tears in
Heaven" by Eric Clapton.
For a boy who hadn't
anticipated such a reaction, this was the first time
he believed he had the talent to make his dream a
reality. With a talent for song writing and
guitar playing way beyond his years, at the age of
17 Aaron was playing the London circuit. Live
performances on Capital Radio, BBC2 and at the
London Palladium merely add to his impressive
resume.
