Even people who have lived in Weybridge for many years couldn't tell you where to find The Prince of Wales - despite it having been here for 150 years!

Tucked away off the beaten track in Oatlands Village, it's a welcome blend of traditional English pub and unpretentious restaurant serving tasty home-cooked food which goes far beyond the typical pub fare. It is owned by Brian and Pat Ford, who are always there and are very much "hands-on".

Upon entering the cosy bar areas you are greeted by a roaring log fire (in the Winter) and a range of beverages only a genuine Free House can provide. Five cask ales are on offer, which should satisfy even the most discerning real ale drinker.

At the rear lies a real gem of a restaurant which is well worth a visit if you like a satisfying meal cooked to order with fresh ingredients.

It's small - around 30 seats and not much room between the tables - but it's very homely and there's a pleasant buzz of conversation that's in no danger of being submerged by the discreet background music.

Lunches are served every day and there's a large menu to choose from, with prices ranging from £4 to £7. On Sundays a traditional roast will cost you only £7 and many other dishes are on offer up to £8.

Dinner costs between £12 and £20 per person for a two or three course meal and you can select from a wide choice of starters, main courses and desserts.
