New Member Of
The Tora-Kai Coaching Team |

We would like to welcome another
coach to Tora-Kai - Judd Ball, who
is assisting currently with the Xcel
classes. |

Tora-Kai Coaching Classes for
SportsCoach in Hampton
|
|
Judd Ball, along with Jonathan
Harvey and Craig Capon one of our
junior coaches will be running a
four week judo class for SportsCoach
in Hampton. |

We had a succesfull games with

At the recent awards presentation at
Elmbridge Borough Council for the
Surrey Youth Games participants,
Sophie Mace won the 'Best young team
leader' award and Morgan
Class-Kirtley won the 'Best team
mate' award. |

We are delighted to welcome Jonathan
Harvey as a Tora-Kai Coach and
Lauren Pearman who has been an
examiner for us for a number of
years, will also be joining the
coaching team. |
Hersham Village Fete
|
|
Tora-Kai School of Judo again
presented a lively display at
Hersham Village Fete on 3rd July. 15
pupils from various Tora-Kai classes
gave spectators a taste of judo with
a show of their technical ability. |

We will be representing judo in
forthcoming displays at Hillcroft
College, Surbiton and at
Go Kingston! 2010 Sport, Culture and
Arts festival on 24th and 25th
July respectively. |

|
We are delighted that Club Coach
Clare Sheridan completed this year's
London Marathon. Thank you for your
support. Clare raised £3,200 in aid
of Sense, a charity that works with
deafblindness in children and
adults. Adrian Pearman, our
school principal is in training for
the London Marathon 2011 (his third)
and may well be joined by Clare! |

New Judo Schools
|
|
We have two new schools - Shrewsbury
House School, Surbiton as of this
month and Rokeby School, Kingston
Hill as of September. |

Elmbridge Judo Team - Surrey Youth
Games
|
|
We are once again team managing the
Elmbridge judo team for the Surrey
Youth Games to be held on 19 June
2010 at Surrey Sports Park in
Guildford (purpose built sports
facility in time for 2012). Team
selection and coaching sessions to
start on Friday April 23rd at Xcel,
5.30 to 6.30. |

Competition Results

Lanesborough
School recently participated in the
IAPS Judo competition and achieved
outstanding results: James
Sweetland - over 60kg 1st Ben
Shaw - 1st Max James - 2nd
Daniel Murphy - 3rd -
Lanesborough School finished an over
all FIRST in the entire competition
which included schools from all over
the UK. |
