The Choir was formed in 1989 and we now have
approximately sixty members. We meet every Monday evening
at 8pm in the Church Hall of
Christ the Prince of Peace,
Portmore Way, Portmore Park Road, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 8
JD.
We have no formal auditions but Christine Best,
the Musical Director, will place you in the section of the
choir most suited to your voice.
We have a very
varied repertoire. The Choir performs many different
styles of music, ranging from classical pieces to
toe-tapping show numbers. The choir has adopted the Sam
Beare Hospice in Weybridge as our local charity, but we
continue to support many other local, national and
international charities and also sings at weddings and
private parties.
We have performed in the Rochester
and Chichester Cathedrals and in the Royal Albert Hall at
the Festival of Brass and Voices.
We have sung in
many joint concerts with the Weybridge Male Voice Choir
and in Basingstoke with the Basingstoke Ladies' Choir and
a visiting choir from Stevenage.
The Choir holds
its annual Christmas Carol Concert at
St James’ Church,
Weybridge, KT13 8DE. |
