About Princess Alice Hospice
|
Princess Alice Hospice is a charity
providing all patient care and support free of charge. We
give outstanding end of life care to adult patients, and
support to their families and friends across a large part
of Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. |

In-Patient Ward
|
|
With our innovative end of life care practices, our
specialist doctors and nurses on our In-Patient Ward, help
relieve pain and control our patients’ symptoms. |
|
A patient’s time here can give their families and friends a
break from the often exhausting task of caring for someone
seriously ill. Even in the last stage of illness, we aim to
give our patients the best possible quality of life, whilst
providing their families and friends with the support they
need.. |

Day Hospice - Services & Therapies

Open every weekday, the Day
Hospice provides comprehensive clinical and
therapeutic services, creative and complementary therapies.

Patients can also take part in a wide range of activities
that include art, craft, music and an internet facility, or
they can simply relax, enjoy our peaceful gardens and
socialise. |
|
Average cost for each attendance by a Day-Patient for free
comprehensive clinical and therapeutic care -

|
| We help relieve pain and control
our patients’ symptoms with free end of life care
and high quality nursing. Even in the last stage of
illness, we aim to give all patients the best
possible quality of life. |
| Through our education and
research activities, we also work to improve end of
life care across the UK and internationally. |
|
|
|
Our Social Work team
plays a vital role supporting patients, their families and
their friends with counselling and advice on practical and
financial matters. |
The team also manages a
Bereavement Service supported by specially trained
volunteers and led by a professional co-ordinator. The
Hospice Chaplain and a
group of dedicated volunteers offer spiritual support. |

Community Team
|
|
Our Community Team of Princess Alice Nurses is one of the
largest specialist teams in the UK. Working with General
Practitioners and District Nurses, our highly experienced
team provide specialist care symptom control seven days a
week. |

They also offer essential advice and support to patients,
their families and their friends at home or in care homes. |
|
Average cost of each home visit -

Community Princess Alice nurses made

calls to patients, their families and their carers. |

As a charity, over
76% of our income must
be generated through Fundraising and Voluntary Donations
from the community.
This amounts to £5.47 million.
This is crucial to the continuation of our work and
supplements a modest NHS contribution. |

For every £1 donated:
84p to charitable activities,
11p to fundraising to secure further donations and 5p for
management and administration. |
|

club and hobby group members together and create a
fundraising event for Princess Alice Hospice? You could
arrange a bike ride, run and jog or maybe a country walk and
for the less physical you could host a quiz night, bridge
drive, table top sale or maybe even a gala dinner. |

to follow suit, become a Community Champion and help promote
your local Hospice in your local area. So go on - choose a
