A chance to be part of Scouting in Walton, Weybridge, Hersham & Oatlands

A chance to be part of Scouting in Walton, Weybridge, Hersham & Oatlands

We are also looking to adults to help in any small way they can to give young people this great opportunity. Can you spare a couple of hours a month to get involved. You don’t have to work with the children to help – can you fix a tent, help fund raise or put together a newsletter?

We can use your skills for the good of the community...

All sections need your help - Beavers, cubs, scouts, explorer, network & fellowship.

Yes - we are all volunteers!

We give up varying degrees of our spare time to promote and support the aspirations of the youth in our community.

Through a balanced programme of badgework, challenges, initiatives, residential experiences and work in the community, our children can have a lot of fun whilst making a good base for their future life, as well as everlasting friendships.

Adult Helpers - Sample Roles

There are many ways to enjoy scouting locally

Whatever time you can spare... we can use it.
Whatever skills you have... we can use them.
Whatever skills you don't have, but would like,
we can find someone to teach you to teach others.

Could YOU fill any of these sample roles?

Helper Are you over 18 and able to work with a team of like-minded adults?
Secretarial Can you take minutes at meetings four times a year and distribute them?
Maintenance Are you handy with a paintbrush?
Quartermaster Can you look after a store of camping equipment?
Fund Raising Can you organise or help with jumble sales, or are you good at finding grants?
Chairperson Can you manage a team of adults to support a Scout Group?
Cook Could you help with catering for 10+ mouths at a camp, indoors or outdoors?
Skills Instructor Could you teach our members to: cook, map read, camp, tie knots, play games, sail, canoe, make things, climb, first aid? ... the list is endless.
Uniformed Leader Could you, with help, organise and run a weekly meeting of 60 - 90 minutes for our young members?
Assistant Leader Could you support another Leader by helping to organise and run a weekly meeting of 60-90 minutes?
The Aim of the Scout Association

The aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

The Method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.
