What can I use the computers for?
The computers are all connected to the Internet. You can surf the web, search for information, send or receive email. There are also word processing and other office programs for you to use.

Computers at library learning centres have training programs to help you improve your computer skills.

If you haven't used the Internet before
If you are not familiar with the Internet, library staff can help you get started and can help you search for information.

If you need more help, then courses and self-tuition packages are available in some library learning centres. Please ask for details and locations.

Adult and Community Learning also run classes throughout the year and you can search their list of courses online.

Can I print pages from the Internet?
Yes. There is a charge for printing:

• 10p a sheet for black and white
• £1 a sheet for colour

Can I use floppy discs in the computers?
Yes. When you use your floppy disc, it will be automatically checked by the computer. Please ask a member of staff for assistance if the computer warns you that your disc is infected with a virus.

Blank floppy discs can be purchased at the library for 50p each.
