held in recent times by the Friends of St James, to give you an
idea. This is not a comprehensive list but gives you an idea of
the types of event, fun was had by all while at the same time
boosting funds for the charity. |

Some of our events in 2008 |
| The Magic Castle - Pantomime |
| Saturday 12 January 2008 at the
Parish centre from 2.30–3.45 pm |
| The Magic Castle is an all
new performance, aimed at children aged 3 to 11 years |
 |
| This will be a fun-filled
afternoon! You can even come in fancy dress if you want - but this is
optional! |
| Also the
winner of a competition to draw a picture of who lives in the castle
will be announced. |
| Tickets price
are £6.50 per person (or £24 for 4) & includes tea or coffee, juice and
biscuits - |

| Two Years In Assosa -
Friday, 12th September 2008 7.30pm |
| An Illustrated talk given
by Mura & Jerry Sayers about their 2 year placement with VSO in
Ethiopia. |

| A reception at 7.30pm in
the Parish Centre will be followed by their talk. |

for the V&A and the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts
Societies, is giving a talk. |

"Christmas Story", as told through the great painters, in December2007?
If you did, you will be pleased to learn that Shirley Turner (NADFAS) is
returning in November 2008 with a
new programme entitled: "For All the Saints". |
| If you missed Shirley in
2007, be sure to bear November in mind. This event was much appreciated
& we hope to see you this time. |
