| The
Weybridge Male Voice Choir is teaming up with
the Worrall Male Voice Choir from Sheffield for
its Autumn Concert on 29 September at the
Catholic Church of Christ Price of Peace in
Portmore Way, Weybridge. |
|
Each choir will sing a number of pieces from
their individual repertoires and will join
forces to form a joint choir of over 100 voices
for the finale. Nigel Russell will conduct the
Worrall Choir and the Weybridge choir will be
under the familiar baton of Christine Best.
|
| The
association with the Sheffield Choir began about
10 years ago when a past Secretary of the
Weybridge Choir, John Wilkinson, returned to his
native Yorkshire roots and joined the Sheffield
Choir. Since then the two choirs have made a
number of reciprocal visits, the latest of which
was a trip from Weybridge to Sheffield last
year. |
|
Tickets for the concert at £7.50 can be
pre-booked by phoning 01252 326514 or just come
along on 29 September. |
|
The Choir is about 60 strong
and performs at around 20 concerts each year,
raising funds for national and local charities,
such as the Sam Beare Ward in Weybridge Hospital
for which the choir helped to raise over £5,000
earlier this year in a joint concert with the
local Treble Clef ladies Choir. More Info:
