Barnardo's are the UK's leading children's
charity, supporting 100,000 children and their families through
371 services in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Every service is different but each has the same
goal - to help underprivileged children reach their full
potential. We help them to overcome the effects of disadvantage
and give children back their future.
Our current campaign is about children like 5 year old Sophie.
Sophie is growing up without many of the opportunities other
children take for granted - simple things such as clothes that
fit, a warm home, somewhere safe to play, toys to play with or
books to read.
But worse than this without the stimulation of toys and other
children she won't develop the same early learning skills as
other children.
Her life has hardly started and she's already
being left behind.
Just £3 a month would enable Sophie to attend a Barnardo's
family centre. Here she would have a safe place to play and
learn with other children - giving her a chance of a decent
future.
